Evaluating Your Image Quality

Determining if your image quality is up to standard

Are you unsure about your image quality? How do you know whether or not the image quality is going to be sufficient for your mural project?

The best and easiest way to tell isn’t to base off the resolution or dimension size (ex: 2500×4000 px), but to zoom into the image using Photoshop, or whatever image editing software you use. Zoom in on the image you want to use for your wall mural.

For example, if you’re using an image with a person’s face and you want your mural at least 7 ft. tall, then you should make the image on your screen the actual size of a person’s head. That is approximately what your image would look like blown up. Is the image still clear?

Our printers will pick up every last pixel on your image and can give you an incredibly impressive and clear mural, provided your image is high quality to begin with.

Working with less than perfect images

Murals that don’t begin with a high quality image can still look very good when up on the wall. If you are determined to use a certain image, odds are we can still make it work. In the defense of good, but not perfect image quality, when you stand back about 10 feet from a wall mural, you aren’t going to notice that the image quality is less than perfect.

Initial consultation and image evaluation

To be safe, we recommend you sending us your image in its original state, the one from your camera’s disk, not the version you uploaded onto Facebook.

Attempting to make an image better in quality, unfortunately, simply will not work. If the image quality is poor to begin with, there’s no dressing it up no matter how much we edit your original photo. We want you to be happy with your wall mural so we set your expectations from the beginning of the project by evaluating your image.

When you place an order with us, and after evaluating your image, we determine the image isn’t high enough quality, based on your print size required, we will communicate that to you immediately. Most of the time, we are able to offer suggestions and recommendations for how we could best work with your chosen image.

Our graphic team is comprised of seasoned photographers, web, and graphic designers with years of experience…together, we can find the perfect image for your custom printed wall mural.
