Dallas Mural has received such a positive response to our recent kid’s bedroom mural install, so we decided to give you guys an inside look on how the job was done.

It all started with Nicole, a mother with a decorating dream: a dream to bring the outdoors inside for her three-year-old son. She found Chris online at dallasmural.com. She told him how much she really loved the beautiful scenery outside her son’s bedroom and that she wanted the beauty inside to match. Nicole also said that she wanted to stay away from anything too childish, allowing the image to grow with her son
as he got older.

Bringing Nature’s Beauty Inside

Chris set to the task of finding the perfect picture for this little boy, carefully catering to her requests and requirements. He thought of the gorgeous view of the lake and pavilion you can see from the bedroom and found the best images available that reflect the nature outside, bringing it in.

He then went back to the family, who in turn put it to a vote. They talked it over for a while, but in the end, one image stood out among the rest. A gorgeous mountain scene, wrapped tightly in a forest blanket, topped gently with a peaceful sky, that mirrored the beautiful lake outside of the little boy’s room.

Kid’s Room Mural Printing and Production

Chris took the image back to the shop and made sure it was the right size and divided the picture into three separate panels with a quarter inch overlap on the edges. The overlap ensures the image is completely seamless when the mural is installed, which is especially important when covering an entire wall.

With many prints, you have to wait for it to dry before you can trim the panels. But we have an HP Latex printer which means that it dries the second it comes out, allowing the panels to be cut and rolled to go to an install right away. After the cutting, rolling, and production work was complete, it was time to call Mason, Dallas Mural’s professional mural installer.

Chris and Mason went to Nichole’s house and got to work. They worked for about two and a half hours to finish this specific mural. They were meticulous about the quality of their work and took extra care to cut perfectly around a bookshelf that was attached to the wall, lining up the panels perfectly and making sure the seams were invisible.

The End Result – Beautiful!

Nichole and the rest of the family were absolutely blown away by the fantastic job that Chris and Mason did, Nichole even told Chris, “You are my hero! Your mural is everyone’s favorite thing in the whole house!”
